Remember those New Year's eves going to the corner of Napier at midnight with dad and listening to the ship's sirens from Salford Docks and looking for the man with all the noses and going into the house with a piece of coal for good luck . Remember little tiny glasses of sherry and mum's mince pies and pork pie with egg and those lovely pickled onions . Some scenes , some times , some people are etched on my heart forever .
